Vanilla Launching
One of the biggest updates Lunar Client has seen is the introduction of Vanilla Minecraft Launching. You can find this feature within the version selector screen of the Lunar Client Launcher. It allows players to launch Vanilla, Forge, OptiFine, or Fabric for nearly any Minecraft version, making it easier to enjoy the game.
Using this new tab allows you to run Vanilla Minecraft through the Launcher. This means you can play on versions that are not supported by Lunar Client, use incompatible Fabric and Forge mods, or set up specific versions for activities like speedrunning. To get started, simply head into the Vanilla tab through the Version selector screen.
From there, you will be able to see most versions of the game, with support for snapshots coming soon. You can launch the game as usual or select the addon for the mod you wish to use. Head into the settings for that version, and click the mods tab at the top of your screen. Just drag and drop any mods you'd like to use into the menu, and you’re ready to go!
Improved Modpack Installation
We have made it significantly easier to install modpacks created by other users. Find any modpack on the Modrinth Website that you’d like to use with Lunar Client, download the .mrpack file, and drag and drop it into your modpacks section.
After doing this, click on the install button that pops up, and Lunar Client will automatically start downloading all the mods from that pack. Once the download is complete, you can customize the name, description, and launch settings to your liking before launching your modpack.
New Features and Bug Fixes
Jumping into the game, a brand new customizability option has been added to all HUD mods. By enabling the Show Brackets feature in any mod that supports it, players can now change the color of the brackets separately from the rest of the text. This feature is a fantastic way to create clean and unique profiles in the client.
In addition to new features, this month’s update also includes several bug fixes. Lunar Client has addressed issues reported by players related to modpack loading and other bugs found throughout the Launcher. This means a smoother experience for everyone using the client. You can find out all of our changes each update in our changelogs here.
Additionally, this month's update includes Not Enough Updates (NEU) version 2.3.3 for Skyblock players, along with fixes for compatibility issues with Xaero's Minimap on some modern versions. The in-game skin changer has also been improved, ensuring that players won’t run into issues when uploading skins from certain URLs.
