What is a Minecraft Mod?

Have you ever wanted to alter your game beyond what is possible in vanilla Minecraft? A Minecraft mod does just this: These features may be something simple, such as some text on your HUD, or it may be a little more complex, such as keeping your sprint enabled at all times. Regardless of the functionality of a mod, many Minecraft players often find it confusing to download and install mods onto their Minecraft. Luckily, with Lunar Client, you can easily access countless different Minecraft mods, all with the click of a button and without having to download and install every individual mod.

How do I use Minecraft Mods?

To begin using mods in Minecraft, you will need to download and install Lunar Client—the largest Minecraft client which contains over 65 different mods, including many of the most popular Minecraft mods, such as Toggle Sprint, Waypoints, and much more. To start, visit https://www.lunarclient.com/download in a web browser and download the appropriate version of the Lunar Client installer according to your operating system. After you have downloaded the installer, open the file and then follow the instructions on the screen. The Lunar Client Launcher will automatically open after you have completed the installation. Once the Lunar Client Launcher has opened, all you need to do now is press the bright green Launch button to launch Lunar Client.

After starting Lunar Client, you will need to press the R-Shift button on your keyboard and click the Mods button that will appear on the screen. Now, you’ll be presented with a large list of highly customizable Minecraft mods that can be enabled by simply clicking on the toggle. If you are unable to find a specific mod, don’t worry! You can use the search bar at the top right to search for a mod name. You can also find additional Lunar Client features by pressing the Settings button at the top.

Furthermore, Lunar Client has aspects of the Forge mod loader integrated into the client to allow for more kinds of mods to be added. At the moment, Lunar Client’s Forge module has the NEU (Not Enough Updates) mod, the SBA (Skyblock Addons) mod, and Replay Mod. NEU and SBA add a variety of features and quality-of-life improvements for Hypixel Skyblock players; Replay Mod allows you to record your gameplay from within the confines of Minecraft. In the future, we plan to add other mods, so keep an eye out! To use the Forge module, open the Lunar Client Launcher, press the arrow next to the launch button to access the version selector, select version 1.8, and then toggle the Forge module at the bottom of the screen.

Besides the Forge module, Lunar Client also carries the Optifine and Sodium modules. While the Optifine module is available on all Minecraft versions, the Sodium module only works on versions 1.16.5 and higher. Optifine is a Minecraft rendering engine that optimizes your game for better performance and also allows advanced visual customization of the game. The Fabric module contains a selection of other Minecraft mods, including Sodium, Noxesium, Replay Mod, Iris, Phosphor, and Indium.
